7-Zip

Most downloads available from Boredom Software are compressed into 7z archives. 7z, or 7-Zip is a free and open source file archiving and compression format and corresponding utility program. You can download the utility program from here.

Many different archive management programs are able to open and extract 7z archives including WinRAR and most Linux-based archive managers (you may need to install the p7Zip package from your packager manager.) 7z archives from Boredom Software are compressed using the LZMA compression algorithm at maximum compression. Some anti-virus programs (like F-Prot) are unable to access, and therefore flag, any archive so packed.
